I think October 2011 may leave an imprint on my brain..
For starters I think I realize now what a fine line there is between this life and the next. Thanking my lucky stars that Joe is safe and didnt happen to be along for the ride on the "coffin on wheels". I am unbelievably sad for the thirteen soldiers who lost their lives that day. Never before has news so far away hit so close to home. It's not something that I really understand, my brain is still playing tricks on me.
Joe is doing well. He's and the guys near the attack are very somber and I imagine reflective. Thankyou for your love and prayers.
The freak snow storm didn't help at all. I kept imagining that when snow started to fall Joe's return would only be a month or two away but we are still looking at about 4 months.. Either way we will see him soon. Leave is only 22 days away.. Joe actually starts his journey back to the states on the 17th of November. He is more than ready to leave that dustbin and soak up tons of snuggles from these not so little babies.. We are more than ready to see him!
Ava is finally walking with confidence.. Chasing Ben and Rowan around the house like a champ. She is definately going through a personality shift with her new found independence.. Bubbly and happy and eager to explore and understand everything. Ben is getting more rambunctious.. Just in time to be cooped up for the cold weather. Thank God we are going on vacation soon.. He can run around outside and wrestle his dad till he passes out!
Rowan is doing great. She is enjoying school now. It took a little adjustment but now she has friends and she's comfortable with her teachers. I get good reports, "Rowan is really quiet but she plays nicely with the other kids. She's doing great." She's really been into drawing lately.. Working on people and writing her name. Joe got to witness that today via Skype.. He was blown away by our little lady's skills. It was a nice getting caught up in childhood innocence. Its makes a for a stark contrast to the world Joe is living in right now.
I am thrilled November is here. It should be an incredible month. Some Birthdays, Daddy's arrival, and big Travel Plans to come. Not to mention Turkey in the Carribean! It's a strange feeling being nervous and excited to welcome home your other half. I just hope the other half of my brain is with him too.
