Nurse Mommy and the Real Sleeping Beauty

We didn't have the greatest start today.  Rowan woke up with a tummy ache and threw up in my bed.  Yuck. My poor baby. So before even getting the twins I had laundry running and Rowan in the bathtub. She felt better and smelled better after that. So we brought Ben and Ava downstairs.. And Rowan threw up again.. then again. And an hour or so later she threw up one more time and then she seemed fine. She was so happy to be feeling better she forgot to go potty and didn't quite make it to the bathroom. So after 3 poop diapers, 4 barfs and pee all over the floor I feel very much like a real nurse.
    I don't usually write about stuff like this. I can't stand it when people write about it on facebook but if anyone wants a clue about what its like being at home with 3 under 3 read on....It's more pleasant from here on..
So Ava greeted me with a "hi Ma" and Ben started his day asking about Dad, as usual. "WOoah Da da?"  "He's still in Afghanistan buddy. Just like yesterday and the day before."  The rest of the day was really uneventful. We watched TV and ate and played. Switching between Nick Jr and "one of Mommy's shows".  It's getting a little easier only in that Ben and Ava are starting to occupy themselves with activities and each other. They really are a fun bunch and I swear they really talk to each other.. The inflection is unmistakable. The twins are ferocious love machines. Ava has figured out how to kiss. So now everything must be kissed. Baby dolls, Rowan's feet, Ben's diaper and forehead, mommy's lips and nose and anything else that seems lonely or sad.  She has a shy playful/standoffish thing she does.. as if she is teasing..
 I say "can i have a kiss?" and she answers with a clear, and curt,  resounding "NO".  Then she smiles a little does 'baby Marlyn Monroe" and puckers up like you just won the lottery.  AAAaadooor aable!  (I'm not going to pretend this isn't going to be a big problem in the future).. Ben just gives and receives hugs all day long. He knows how to kiss too and isn't shy at all about giving them up. Right smack on my mouth! Then he leans back and giggles and wobbles his head. What a flirt!
  Rowan was making up a game about magic jewelry that is capable of transporting her dad home. She was all dressed up and jumping on her bed with her "magic stones" and yelling "i wish my DADDY would come home from Ghanistan!  C'omon mommy wish with me.."  Oh my... hold it together.
  Lastly I fed the babies dinner after a bath.. What was i thinking.. Oh it's because we went outside to play in the sandbox and everyone was gross... So while i was feeding twins dinner Ro zonked on the couch in the living room.. I couldn't resist.. The Real Sleeping Beauty, so beautiful and peaceful and feeling better.. While i was shooting I heard Ben and Ava gabbing back in the kitchen. They sounded like best friends telling great stories from their childhood... Hilarious.. Now they are all asleep!!! Ahhh.. Time for mommy to chill out and get my thoughts together for the next day ahead.  One I am very much looking forward to.
